Week 3: May 26

Lesson: Multi-track mixing in the Box Part I:  Mixing, Basic automation, markers, strip silence, master faders, and TDM plug-ins.

Assessment: payback percussion session

Assignment: Set up a basic multi-track mix.

Week 4: June 2

Lesson: Multi-track Mixing in the Box Part II: 808 and de-esser, parallel compression, aux tracks for sub-groups and time-based effects, and delay compensation.

Assessment: Demonstrate basic mix setup.

Assignment: Add each of the new skills to your mix.

Week 5: June 9

Lesson: Multi-track Mixing in the Box Part III: Live internal bounce, solo SPL / PFL, plug-in automation, playlists during mix.

Assessment: Demonstrate Part II skills.

Assignment: Add Part III skills to your mix, finalize you mix, bounce and burn a CD.

Week 6: June 16

            Lesson: Review and critique mixes.

Week 7: June 23

You will be given a new session and asked to demonstrate Multi-track mixing skills in less than 8 minutes.

Week 8: June 30

            Lesson: Advanced Signal Flow Part I: Z-Sys Signal flow and hybrid mixing

            Assignment: Practice setting up a hybrid mix.

Week 9: July 7

            Lesson: Advanced Signal Flow Part II: O2R and Studio Manager

            Assessment: Quiz on hybrid setup

            Assignment: Create and save a basic hybrid mix with SM2 files.

Week 10, July 14

            Lesson: W10: Editing Music: (Tick based v. Sample Based)

            Assessment: Present hybrid mix.

            Assignment: Perform tick based edits on provided session.

Week 11 July 21

            Lesson: Movie Project Part I: script, picking a movie, showing

            Assessment: Present edits.

            Assessment: Type script, import effects into a 48k session

Week 12: July 28

Lesson: Movie Project Part II: Spot, SMPTE, time & pitch shifting, Foley, and ADR / looping.

Assessment: Pass in script.

Assignment: Record dialogue, Foley and effects.

Week 13: Aug 4

            Lesson: Movie Project Part III: Mixing, ducking, automation, and authoring.

            Assignment: Present first mix.

            Assignment: Finalize mix and bounce to QT file.

Week 14: Aug 11 

            Lesson: Movie Project Part IV: Mix and sound design critique
